Most of the domestic airlines operate Everest mountain flights from Kathmandu around the year except in the monsoon seasons of June and July. This Flight is one of the highly favorite extra activities of the tourists visiting Nepal. They combine this flight as a part of their tour and travel program.

Mt. Everest (8848m): Mt. Everest is the highest mountain of the world was discovered in 1852. It is named after Sir George Everest, an English surveyor. Nepalese people call it Sagarmatha means top of the universe and Qomolongma in Tibetan. Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgey Sherpa were first to climb Everest on May 25, 1953 as a coronation gift to Queen Elizabeth.
Mt. Lhotse (8516m): Mt. Lhotse lies to the south of Everest. Its name is derived from Sherpa language spoken by people staying in Himalayan region which means " South Peak". The first ascent of this mountain took place in 1956 by the Swiss.
Mt. Gauri-Sanker (7134m): This single mountain has two peaks and also has two names together because the Hindus believe that the mountain looks like the pair of Gods Shiva and Gauri (Parvati). This holy mountain was restricted till 1977 for the climbers. It was only in 1979 that an American - Nepal group reached the summit.
Mt. Langtang (7234m): Langtang is the first mountain can be seen from Mountain flight. It lies in the north south of Kathmandu valley. The valley of Langtang, which is not visible from the mountain flight, is considered to be the most beautiful in the whole Himalayan region.
Shisapangma (8013m): This mountain lies on the Nepal - Tibetan border. Some people also call it Gosaithan. This mountain is related with many Hindu Mythology especially of Lord Shiva.
